Wix lays off about 1,000 employees

The Israeli company Wix, specializing in website creation, announced a reorganization that will lay off 800 to 1,000 employees. The wave of layoffs will affect both the Israeli and international staff of the company, numbering thousands of people.

Previously, Wix carried out targeted cuts in 2022 and 2023, affecting mainly foreign service and support divisions. The current wave is much broader and may indicate a significant rethinking of the company’s global strategy.

Over the past year, Wix has been confronted with accelerated technological change, most notably the advent of generative artificial intelligence, which is changing approaches to creating websites and digital products.
