The eldest son of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong is Chairman of VinFast

The above decision was announced by VinFast on May 25. Before being appointed as Chairman of VinFast, Mr. Quan Anh held the role of Vice President and Deputy General Director of this company. Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, is the General Director of VinFast.

The eldest son of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong will replace Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, who will step down from participating in the Board of Directors (BOD) of VinFast, to focus on her role as Vice President of Vingroup. Currently, Vingroup is the parent company of VinFast, holding 50% of the charter capital.

Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh was born in 1993 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration at Singapore Management University. During the period 2017-2019, he held the role of Deputy General Director of Vinpearl.

He joined VinFast in February 2019, has held many leadership positions and joined the Board of Directors since November last year. In addition to holding a leadership role at VinFast, Mr. Quan Anh is also the General Director of VinMetal, a steel manufacturing company under Vingroup.

VinFast is a car company founded by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong in 2017. Four years later, the company completely switched to producing electric cars, closing the gasoline car segment. This year, the business aims to deliver 300,000 cars globally.

In 2025, VinFast records revenue of 90,427 billion VND, an increase of 139% compared to 2024 and the highest ever. However, this year, the company’s net loss was more than 97,000 billion VND.

In mid-May, the business announced plans to transfer the production segment to another group of investors, including billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong. Instead, VinFast will focus on car sales, brand development, product research, and technology.
