La Jornada: Sheinbaum celebrates the trade surplus

There is two “very good news about the country’s economic results: first, historical record in foreign direct investment” for 23,591 million dollars in the first quarter of the year and, second, “we have a positive trade balance,” said President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Yesterday at the morning conference he said that exports grew 21.8 percent from January to April, compared to the same period of the previous year, and imports 19.9. “That means there is a surplus of 3,508 million dollars.”

He also clarified that “the EU can give credit to its companies to invest in Mexico. It is a fund of 100 billion pesos.”
