Israelis made 707.5 thousand trips abroad in May

Of the total number of departures in May, 584.7 thousand were made by air, which is 83% of all departures. In May 2025, air travel accounted for 90% of Israeli travel abroad.

There were 113.4 thousand exits through land border crossings in May, of which 49.9 thousand were made through the Taba checkpoint on the border with Egypt. A year earlier, 24.4 thousand departures were registered through Taba. 9.5 thousand trips were made by sea in May.

In January-May 2026, 2 million 445.9 thousand trips of Israelis abroad were registered, compared to 3 million 369 thousand for the same period in 2025. Of these, 1 million 989.5 thousand departures were made by air, 445.8 thousand through land crossings and 10.7 thousand by sea.
