Gold price today: Gold price continues to fall below 154 million VND

On the morning of June 5, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) adjusted the listed gold price schedule many times. At 11am, the price of gold bars at SJC was traded at 150.8 – 153.8 million VND, 2.2 million per tael lower than the end of yesterday.

At the same time, plain rings at SJC dropped to 150.6 – 153.6 million VND per tael, down more than 2 million VND per tael. Plain rings at PNJ are traded at 151.4 – 154.4 million VND. DOJI Jewelry Group lists plain rings at 150.8 – 153.8 million VND per tael.

Domestic gold prices fell more sharply than the world’s, causing the gap between the two markets to narrow quickly.

On the international market, spot gold prices decreased by 35 USD per ounce in the past 24 hours, trading around 4,440 USD. Converted according to Vietcombank’s selling exchange rate, the domestic gold price is currently only less than 13 million VND per tael higher than the world price, while two months ago the difference was sometimes nearly 30 million VND.

The continuous decline has erased gold’s performance compared to the beginning of the year. The price of gold bars is currently lower than 2 million VND per tael while the price of gold rings is approximately the same as 6 months ago.

With silver metal, the price of silver bars and bars this morning decreased slightly compared to yesterday. Phu Quy Gold Investment Joint Stock Company and DOJI both listed silver bars at about 2.75 – 2.84 million VND per tael, equivalent to 73.4 – 75.7 million per kg. Sacombank – SBJ listed 2.77 – 2.85 million per tael.
