The government unanimously approved a NIS 4 billion development plan for the North.

During a special meeting held in Nof HaGalil, the Israeli government approved the plan of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich for the development of the Northern District for 2026-2030.

The total investment in the program is about 4 billion shekels. It was developed jointly with the heads of municipalities of the cities of Galilee – Safed, Akko, Nof HaGalil, Nazareth, Afula, Tiberias and Karmiel – and is based on structures operating in the region: regional clusters and joint industrial zones.

The plan contains a set of measures in the areas of urban renewal, transport, economy, employment, education, health, personal safety and culture.

It should be emphasized that this is a separate program from the NIS 18 billion settlement development plan on the confrontation line approved last week.
