Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh resigned as General Director of Green SM

After more than 3 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, born in 1992, stopped being General Director of Green SM (Xanh SM).

According to the above registration National information portal on business registrationGSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (Green SM) has changed its General Director since June 16. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh resigned from this position due to personal reasons, after more than 3 years in charge. The replacement is Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, born in 1977. Currently, Green SM has not announced detailed information about the new CEO.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh was appointed General Director of Green SM from March 2023, when the company was first established. This businessman joined the Vingroup ecosystem in 2019, holding several positions such as Deputy General Director of VinBus or Deputy General Director of VinFast.

During the period 2016-2019, Mr. Thanh held management roles at a number of companies such as Cargill Nutrition, Lazada Logistics… 4 years ago, former CEO Green SM was appointed Forbes recognized in the list of Under 30 Asia Class Of 2022 – influential businessmen under 30 years old in Asia.

Green SM was founded by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong in 2023, with initial charter capital of VND 3,000 billion. Currently, this company’s capital scale has reached more than 43,000 billion VND, and is planning an initial public offering (IPO).

Ms. Pham Thu Huong, wife of Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, is the Chairman of Green SM. Initially, the company mainly operated in the field of taxi and ride-hailing technology with all VinFast products. After that, the business expanded into more service areas such as food delivery, delivery, intra-city transportation, car rental, electric motorbikes…

This ride-hailing company is present in 34 provinces and cities across the country and deploys services abroad, with markets including India, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines. According to Mordor Intelligence, Green SM surpassed Grab and Be to lead the 4-wheeled vehicle hailing segment in Vietnam in the fourth quarter of 2025, accounting for 51.5% of the market share by total transaction value (GMV).
