The cooperation between Sun Group and CAI began with a strategic agreement to develop Phu Quoc International Airport according to the “destination airport” model in March this year. According to representatives of the two units, expanding cooperation from a specific project to a long-term framework aims to help the Vietnamese group access international experience in airport planning, management and operation, gradually building capacity to develop aviation infrastructure according to international standards.

The foundation of the cooperation was formed from Sun Group’s aviation infrastructure investment for nearly a decade. The Group is currently investing in Van Don International Airport – Vietnam’s first private international airport that came into operation in 2018. The unit is also taking over the operation and expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport to serve APEC 2027 and is implementing the Phan Thiet Civil Airport project.

Through cooperation with CAI – a unit that has consulted for more than 60 airports in more than 20 countries, Sun Group expects to improve operational efficiency and passenger experience at aviation infrastructure projects.
