Social Carafe in winter: the step by step to process the subsidy and how the benefit works

The subsidy for the purchase of bottles changed modality and left the former Home Program behind. From now on, financial aid is administered through the Targeted Energy Subsidies Regime (SEF)so those who wish to continue receiving the benefit must register in the new system.

Although the Government had set a period of six months to complete the process, there is currently no deadline to register. However, as the previous plan ceased to be in force on June 30those who do not sign up will not be able to access the benefit.

The regime provides a subsidy to vulnerable households that use bottled gas through a monthly bonus of $9,593 per bottle. During the winter period, the benefit reaches up to two bottles per month, while in the summer period it is applied to one bottle per month.

To access the discount in the Social Carafe, the purchase must be made through the virtual wallets BNA+ and MODE. The benefit is credited as a direct refund at the time of purchase, which allows the cost of the bottle to be reduced immediately.

According to the Ministry of Energy, in this first stage the program has nearly 2,000 businesses participating throughout the country.
