The creation of a new settlement, Eshel HaNasi, in the Western Negev has been approved

The Planning and Building Council approved the project for the creation of a new settlement, Eshel HaNasi, in the western Negev. The project is being implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Construction through the Department for Rural Settlements under the leadership of Osnat Kimkhi.

The new settlement, planned to be built next to the agricultural youth village of Eshel HaNasi, will include approximately 500 housing units. The project envisages the creation of a community village with educational institutions, farms, tourism infrastructure and businesses to provide employment, while using existing infrastructure.

In the future, the new settlement should become the center of the local council of Merhavim, it should help strengthen rural settlement in the western Negev.

The village will be located adjacent to the Eshel HaNasi Agricultural School to ensure a close connection between the local community and the educational institution. In particular, it should provide housing for school staff, enhance educational, social and agricultural activities in the area and promote its further development.

The creation of a new settlement is part of a large-scale program of the Ministry of Construction to develop rural settlements, expand the housing stock and form new points of economic growth in the Negev. The ministry emphasizes that the program reflects the long-term development strategy of the Negev as one of the priority regions of the country.
