Da Nang started construction on a series of trillion VND industrial park projects

Taking advantage of the post-merger land fund, the city continuously started construction of key industrial parks in the South with a total capital of trillions of dong.

On August 29, three items at Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park (IZ) officially started construction with a total investment of 1,098 billion VND. The items include: factory area for rent with a scale of 18 hectares (670 billion VND), phase 2 technical infrastructure with a scale of 29.5 hectares (268 billion VND) and a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 4,200 m3/day and night (160 billion VND).

The goal of the project is to complete synchronous technical infrastructure, create a clean land fund to welcome high-tech and clean technology investment capital from the beginning of 2027. The entire Nam Thang Binh Industrial Park has an area of 346 hectares, total investment capital of more than 4,043 billion VND divided into 8 phases, oriented according to the ecological, multi-sector and emission reduction industrial park model.

One day earlier, the city also issued an order to start construction of Tam Anh 1 Industrial Park with a scale of 167 hectares, total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND. The project focuses on attracting the processing – manufacturing industry, supporting industries and high technology, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The move to simultaneously start construction projects in the South is part of the strategy to restructure Da Nang’s economic space. After the merger, the city owns an area of more than 11,800 square kilometers and a population of over 3 million people, removing the previous bottleneck of shortage of inner-city industrial land fund.

The Southern Economic Corridor includes Chu Lai, Thang Binh and Tam Anh regions with the advantage of a large land fund, convenient connection to deep-water seaport, Chu Lai airport and arterial highways. The expansion of infrastructure here helps create local jobs, while forming a production and logistics chain connecting smoothly from the center to the southern growth pole.

Mr. Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, said the city government will speed up site clearance progress, reform administrative procedures and ensure the supply of supporting infrastructure including electricity, water and logistics. The city aims to attract selective investment, prioritize high technology and not trade the environment for economic growth.

Before expanding space, the central area of Da Nang had 6 industrial parks including Hoa Khanh, Hoa Khanh expansion, Lien Chieu, Hoa Cam, Da Nang, Da Nang Seafood Services along with High-Tech Park and Centralized Information Technology Park.

After integrating the entire system of southern industrial zones and clusters – especially Chu Lai Open Economic Zone – the city’s production network expanded to many segments such as mechanical engineering, automobile assembly, high-tech textiles, semiconductor circuits and supporting industries.

The city aims to maintain gross regional product (GRDP) growth at a double-digit level. Projects such as Nam Thang Binh and Tam Anh 1, when put into operation, are expected to be a driving force in promoting the value of industrial production, logistics services and the digital economy of the entire area.
