The cars containing the technology developed by the startup company Sensible 4 were supposed to enter the market next year.

A startup company Sensible 4 files for bankruptcy, says Trade magazine.

Sensible 4 has been developing self-driving robot car technology since 2017. HS Visio told the company’s story more than a year ago. According to the story, cars containing the software developed by Sensible 4 were supposed to enter the market in 2024.

Four years ago, the company was awarded in Dubai as the world’s best self-driving car startup. In 2020, it won the Finnish Engineering Award.

Sensible 4 also developed a Gacha bus with the Japanese retailer Muji, which could be seen moving around the streets of Espoo, Vantaa and Hämeenlinna, for example.

Last fall, the company announced that it managed to raise a total of 16.7 million euros in its A funding round. According to the latest financial statements from 2021, Sensible 4 made net losses of 2.4 million euros with a turnover of 2.9 million euros at that time.

Company founder and CEO Harri Santamala did not want to comment on the bankruptcy matter to Kauppalehti. According to the newspaper, Sensible 4’s bankruptcy application has been filed in the district court of Länsi-Uusimaa a week ago, Wednesday.
