Instructions have been published for owners of solar panels in case of power outages

The Electricity Authority has published guidelines for the use of photovoltaic cells in the event of power outages.

This is not about new instructions, but about a decision to increase public awareness in light of possible problems with electricity supply as a result of the war with Hezbollah.

To use a photovoltaic panel in the event of a power outage, you must purchase and install a special hybrid switch. The cost of the switch ranges from several hundred to several thousand shekels and must be installed by a certified electrician.

The switch can automatically disconnect the home from the power grid in a split second if there is a fault, allowing the solar panels to continue supplying the home with electricity.
