123 billion dirhams in foreign investment projects in Dubai since 2020

Dubai continued to strengthen its position as the best destination in the world for foreign direct investment, with the continued annual growth of projects since 2020, bucking global downward trends, according to data from “FDI Intelligence” and the Dubai Foreign Direct Investment Observatory.

According to Al-Khaleej monitoring, between 2020 and 2023, Dubai attracted about 3,282 new foreign investment projects, worth $33.42 billion (122.73 billion dirhams).

Dubai attracted the largest share of foreign direct capital inflows to the Emirates, worth $6.81 billion (25 billion dirhams) in 2023. It is worth noting that Dubai acquired approximately 81% of the total number of foreign investment projects in the Emirates.

In 2022, Dubai accounted for nearly half of total foreign direct investment inflows, attracting $12.8 billion (AED 47 billion). According to data from the Dubai Foreign Direct Investment Monitor, the total number of foreign direct investment projects announced in Dubai reached 1,173 projects in 2022, an increase of 89% compared to 618 foreign direct investment projects in 2021. Dubai ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa region. And third globally.

In 2021, the estimated value of FDI capital inflows to Dubai exceeded $7.08 billion (AED 26 billion).
