The Treasury registers 1,450 statements per minute at the beginning of the income campaign: “People want the money as soon as possible”

The 2023 income campaign began this Wednesday with a massive presentation of returns by taxpayers. At 10 in the morning the number of documents presented exceeded half a million, which means that the Tax agency has received an average of 1,450 statements per minute and an increase of 11% compared to last year.

People want to have the money as soon as possible and since they know that the Tax Agency returns more quickly, they do not hesitate to present their declaration as soon as they can,” explained the president of the organization, Soledad Fernández, at the press conference to present the campaign. Fernández has also explained that the Agency plans to launchr 164,000 tax data notices related to games on line. This does not mean that it will apply 164,000 tax penalties, but it will remind that number of taxpayers that they must declare the profits obtained for this concept.

“The Tax agency has information on operations carried out by you in the online game. Remember that you must record the capital gains or losses obtained in these operations in the section ‘Prizes obtained by participating in games, raffles or random combinations without advertising purposes'”, these notices state.

In these same tax notices also The 948,000 related to virtual currencies, which is almost three times more than the 328,000 issued last year. The main reason explained is the additional information provided by the new virtual currency models. For rentals in other countries, the figure will rise to 895,000 and those related to property rentals will add up to a total of 866,000 notices.

Plan for people over 65 years of age

The Tax Agency has also reported this Wednesday that it will launch a special assistance plan for people over 65 years of age in small municipalities starting in May in view of the presentation of the Declaration of the Renta 2023.

The main novelty of this campaign is the implementation of a special plan for the preparation and presentation of income tax returns for people over 65 years of age who have their tax domicile in small municipalities.

The plan will begin on May 7, with an appointment request starting on April 29, and will reach older residents in more than 500 municipalities in the 46 provinces of the common territory, Europa Press reports.
