No AUA flights to Tehran for the time being

The Austrian Airlines (AUA) suspend their flights due to the escalation between the Iran and Israel until Thursday, April 18th. Long routes that pass through Iranian airspace will be rerouted accordingly, the airline said in a statement.

The situation in the Middle East is being continually evaluated and we are in close contact with the authorities. AUA parent Lufthansa had previously canceled its flights to and from Tehran.

After a suspected Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy compound in Syria at the beginning of April, threats from Tehran towards Israel recently increased. Israel then declared that it would not leave unanswered a possible attack by Iran on its territory.
