Premium confectionery & trading, the official importer of Kinder brand chocolate, has announced a recall of three products in Israel as a “precautionary measure”.
The announcement comes after confectionery manufacturer Ferrero announced that 125 cases of salmonella infection in several European countries may have been linked to Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs produced at a plant in Belgium.
Representatives of the importer told Mako that no signs of salmonella have been found in any of the products so far. However, the manufacturer has decided, as a precautionary measure, to recall products manufactured at the plant in Belgium.
The following are subject to recall in Israel: – Kinder Surprise Maxi, which expires between July 7, 2022 and October 21, 2022 with article number L334R03–; L357R03–; L288R03-LA; L334R03-MU; L334R03UAX; L335R03UAX; L355R03–; L357R03-NQ;
– Kinder Schoko-Bons with an expiration date between May 25, 2022 and July 15, 2022 with item number L004LZD-; L005LZD-MX; L294RZD-LA; L295RZD-LA; L308RZD-LM; L309RZD-LM; L343RZD-MX; L344RZD-MX; L355RZD-MX; L356RZD-MX.
– Kinder Schoko-Bons with an expiration date between May 31, 2022 and July 14, 2022 with item number L291R03—; L298R03—; L306R03—; L319R03—; L320R03—; L330R03—; L334R03—; L335R03—.
Consumers who have already purchased the product are advised not to use it.

It should be noted that a day earlier, Ferrero responded to a request from Israeli journalists that Kinder Surprise eggs sold in Israel are produced at a factory in Italy, where no traces of E. coli were found.
