Dana Gas: Temporarily suspending operations in Khor Mor due to a terrorist attack

Dana Gas Company said that one of the liquid storage tanks within the Khor Mor facilities of Pearl Petroleum Company in the Kurdistan region of Iraq was subjected to a terrorist attack by a drone at 6:45 pm on Friday, April 26.

She added in a statement that this attack led to the death of four contractor employees and the wounding of eight others with minor injuries.

The statement continued: “All employees of Dana Gas and its partners express their sincere condolences to the families of the victims and their colleagues, and the company is taking all measures that will alleviate the suffering of those affected by this tragic event.”

The company stressed in its statement that preserving the health and safety of all its members, including employees and contractors, is one of its top priorities.

The company said, “Although there was no significant damage to the facility, to ensure the safety of our employees and operational facilities, production operations were temporarily suspended, and procedural changes were introduced.”

The company and its partners confirmed full coordination with the authorities of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq and at the highest levels in supporting the declared commitments of the authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, noting that this attack sparked widespread regional and international condemnation, and also generated support for taking immediate action.

Dana Gas indicated that it is working with government authorities to enhance security and defensive measures to allow the resumption of production operations at the Khor Mor facility.

The company affirmed its firm commitment to the people of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole and all parties associated with it, and “we look forward to resuming production operations in Khor Mor as soon as it is safe to do so.”

Dana Gas noted that it will inform shareholders of any developments on a regular basis.
