A 130 million dirham electrical cable factory in Dubai

Neelkanth Cables, the Zambian cable manufacturer, has opened its factory equipped with the latest facilities and equipment in Dubai Industrial City, a subsidiary of TECOM Group, which is one of the most prominent destinations in the region for industrial and logistics companies.

The opening of the factory was attended by Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; Saud Abu Al-Shawareb, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group – Industrial Sector; In addition to an elite group of high-level officials and dignitaries, the volume of investment in this factory, which extends over an area of ​​503 thousand square feet, amounts to 130 million dirhams, and will provide more than 200 new job opportunities.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, stressed that the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology mainly supports enhancing the industrial business environment and the investment attractiveness of this vital sector, which has many qualitative capabilities and incentives. The Ministry is working in cooperation with its strategic partners such as Dubai Industrial City to highlight Qualitative investment opportunities for partners and investors from the UAE and around the world.

He added: “We welcome investors in the industrial sector, and provide them with all the capabilities and incentives that help them grow, compete, and prosper, under the umbrella of the (Make in the Emirates) initiative, the (National Content) and (Technological Transformation) programmes, and other initiatives and programmes, and it reflects the desire of industrial investors for expansion. In their work in the country, the status and attractiveness of the UAE to international companies and the business environment provided by the Ministry, in cooperation with its strategic partners, helps manufacturers grow and compete in local, regional and international markets.”

He called on investors and industrial companies to discover more about competitive advantages by following the work of the third session of the “Make in the Emirates Forum,” which is organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the ADNOC Group and the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi on May 27 and 28 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, which is held under the slogan “Investment.” Innovation, Growth) during which several new initiatives will be announced and agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed to enhance capabilities and incentives, support technological transformation and innovation, and the competitiveness of Emirati products, in addition to announcing new procurement and investment opportunities worth several billion dirhams.

The factory will produce conductors and cables for low- and medium-voltage devices, with a production capacity of 20,000 metric tons annually, including 13,000 metric tons of copper and 7,000 metric tons of aluminum electrical cables annually. This factory takes advantage of the latest technological means, such as programmable logic controllers and monitoring, control and data acquisition systems, to improve the effectiveness of production processes and enhance operational efficiency.
