Finnish actress Jaakko Ohtonen is in Jesus Mel Gibson’s new film

The Finn has a leading role in The Resurrection of the Christ, which has long been a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.

Finnish actress Jaakko Ohtonen has been selected for the main role of the US actor and director Mel Gibson to the movie, says Variety.

Ohtonen presents Jesus The Resurrection of the Christ in a movie that has long been a sequel to work The Passion of the Christ movie (2004).

According to Variety, the film’s filming began last week in Rome. The film is expected to be released in two parts in 2027.

Role has been completely changed from a previous film released in 2004. The former film tells about crucifixion, and the future work deals with the resurrection.

The film’s production was told that since the resurrection of Jesus is only three days away from the crucifixion, it would not have made sense to use the same actors as in 2004.

In a previous movie Jesus presented Jim Caviezel. According to Variety, Caviezel had hinted earlier this year that he was ready to play Jesus in the sequel.

36-year-old Ohtonen has become familiar to the international audience, especially for his role as a Danish warrior Netflix The Last Kingdom in the series.

He has also played Netflix Vikings: Valhalla –in the series and in Disney’s new Bear soup in the series that will come to the Disney+streaming service on Wednesday.

Ohtonen has also appeared in several Finnish productions such as Eagle 10, All sins and Ill.
