The Film Academy exceeds 3,000 members on its 40th anniversary

The Film Academy announced this Monday that has exceeded 3,000 membersa “milestone” for the institution that highlights its own maturity as it celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and that represents “a meeting point, representation and dialogue for the sector.”

“And milestone that not only reflects quantitative growth, but also the maturity of an institution that has just turned 40 years old and that makes it clear that cinema is a collective craft, and this institution is a meeting point, representation and dialogue for the sector,” says the institution.

This growth, according to the Academy, reflects the plurality of an industry in constant transformation and praises the diversity of profiles that make up the entity, coming from the 15 specialties, as well as associated professions that dialogue with the audiovisual sector.

The Academy also maintains a wide territorial presence, with presence in different autonomous communities and different countries.. This open nature reinforces its ability to connect Spanish cinema with professionals established in other territories, generating networks, exchanges and opportunities that enrich the cultural and professional fabric,” indicates the entity.

The Film Academy was founded on January 8, 1986, when 87 professionals signed the founding document. Since then, the institution has evolved in parallel with the film industry itself and adds that its vocation to serve professionals remains today.
