Seven stage creators will delve into their creative universe for six months with the SGAE Contracielo program

Replica Teatro announced this Tuesday the seven scenic creators selected for its artistic accompaniment program ‘Against sky’with the collaboration of Fundación SGAE and INAEM – Castillo Palacio Magalia.

Those selected will delve deeper into their creative universe and artistic identity for a semester and will enjoy two weeks of shared work at the Palacio de Magalia (Navas del Marqués, Ávila), as well as a week of individual work at the headquarters of Réplika Teatro and Fundación SGAE (Madrid). Likewise, they receive financial aid of 1,500 euros, a travel fund to cover the costs of accommodation, meals and transportation, and accommodation in the coexistence space.

The selection committee, formed by the management team of Against skyhas selected, from among 176 proposals, Lucía Flores, stage creator and performer; the Valencian poet and scenic creator Elsa Moreno; the Galician actor and dancer Bal Castro; and the company The Abandonedtraining of five former students who graduated from the Diploma in Dramatic Art at Réplika Teatro.

“The 176 proposals received in this first call are, without a doubt, a privileged and hopeful window from which to observe the present of the Performing Arts in the Spanish state.their great diversity, their quality and the unwavering drive with which they face a reality always crossed by uncertainty and precariousness”, explained the Contracielo team.

The program’s management team has decided to incorporate three other creators to join as guests for the two weeks shared at the Castillo Palacio Magalia, ““a decision not originally foreseen in the bases of the call as a result of the team’s desire to expand the scope of the program”.

The three artists invited to share the weeks of collective work are the choreographer, dancer and teacher Celia Reyes, the multifaceted artist Marta Valverde, a hybrid creator between film direction and editing, plastic arts and audiovisual performance, and the sound artist and performer Meritxell de Soto.
