Taylor Swift has filed three trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office

Vocalist Taylor Swift has taken legal action to protect itself from AI. On Friday, April 24, Swift’s company filed three trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Two applications concern sound trademark protection. One has been applied for the phrase “Hey, it’s Taylor Swift” and another for the phrase “Hey, it’s Taylor”. Swift has used phrases in its marketing The Life of A Showgirl – album on Amazon Music Unlimited and Spotify.

The third application concerns a photo of Taylor Swift holding a pink guitar. In the picture, she is wearing a multicolored, shimmering bodysuit and silver boots. He stands on a pink stage in front of a multicolored microphone. There are purple lights in the background.

They have told about it, among other things entertainment site Variety and news agency Reuters.

Taylor Swiftin appearance has been used without permission in numerous artificial intelligence fakes. He has been seen, among other things, in Meta’s chat bots that use artificial intelligence and in pornographic images spread on the internet.

Before the 2024 US presidential election Donald Trump shared AI-generated images that falsely suggested Swift was endorsing Trump.

The entertainment industry has started to feel more and more concerned about the abuse of artificial intelligence. Actor Matthew McConaugheylle eight trademarks were granted in 2025.

They included the audio trademark of his saying “Alright, alright, alright!” Richard Linklaterin from directing Dazed and Confused –from the film (1993). There was also audio and video footage of him.
