According to several sources and official documents collected by The New York TimesTaylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to get married in New York next week. The singer, one of the most listened to pop music artists, and the American football player, three-time Super Bowl winner, announced their engagement in August. Speculation was rife as to the date and location of their wedding.

According to the daily, a request for authorization has been filed with the City of New York to close the streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to July 4 at noon, in preparation for an event scheduled for July 3. Three people familiar with the matter confirmed the information. The newspaper also specifies that several members of the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce’s team, have reserved hotel rooms for dates close to July 3 at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Times Square.

A two-part wedding at Madison Square Garden

Still according to the New York Timesthe schedule called for an intimate gathering of about 100 people at Madison Square Garden on July 2, followed by a larger reception of about 1,000 people on July 3 for a “more sumptuous celebration, possibly with appearances on stage”.

Winick Productions, an events organization company, submitted a request to municipal services at the beginning of June to organize activities on public roads, the newspaper specifies. In particular, the company requested the installation of a tent or awning outside the hall for an event, which, it said, would accommodate between 500 and 999 participants.
