George Clooney’s home may be on fire in France

The Clooneys told of their departure in a letter sent to the mayor of Brignoles Didier Brémond.

“At this point we do not know if our beautiful home will survive this terrible moment,” the couple wrote.

In the letter, the Clooneys expressed their concern for the safety of the residents of the area and promised to participate in the reconstruction of Brignoles, regardless of the damage caused by the fires.

“We love Brignoles and our friends who live there,” they wrote.

The fire raging near Brignoles was, according to the French authorities, somewhat under control by Wednesday. The rescue services, however, continue to extinguish the fire in the area and monitor the edges of the fire.

The Clooneys acquired their farmhouse in Brignoles in 2021. The family has since considered the home in the French countryside their primary residence. George Clooney has said that he appreciates the tranquility of the area and the fact that the children can live there away from the Hollywood public.

France is struggling at the same time with a larger fire in the Gironde region in the southwest of the country. The burned area near Bordeaux has grown to around 42,000 hectares, and a total of around 224,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.

However, cooler weather and increased humidity have made extinguishing work easier, and some of the evacuees have been able to return to their homes.
