The age limit for the horror movie Evil Dead Burn was raised

About evil demonic forces Evil Dead -film series premiered in Finland on July 10.

The image program classifier evaluates at the beginning of July Evil Dead Burn – film to be allowed for people over 16 years old, but after re-evaluation, the age limit was raised to 18 years old on Monday.

“We received feedback that the film’s age limit is not right, which is why we started to reclassify it. When classifying, the program is watched from start to finish and the relationship of the individual images to the whole is evaluated,” Kuvin’s Age Limits unit’s special expert Hanna Happo tells.

Age limit the removal was decided because the film contains a lot of realistic, bloody and detailed violence, which is also sometimes self-directed. Violent scenes include, for example, special close-ups of mutilation.

“In K18 films, the violence is very long-lasting, controlling, detailed, sadistic and torture-like.”

The previous installment of the Evil Dead series, Evil Dead Rise (2023) movie age limit is K16.

“Its content was more distancing and unrealistic, even parodic. Although this newer film also has unrealistic content, prolonged and sadistic violence is directed not only at the “living dead”, but also at human characters.”

In K16 films, the amount of bloody violence is less and the duration of the scenes containing it is shorter.

in Finland has its own criteria for age limits. According to Hapo, there are currently around 150 age limit classifiers in Finland.

“We train, retrain and monitor their activities. Public feedback is one important monitoring mechanism,” says Happo.

Every year, Kuvi reevaluates the age limits of dozens of television shows, movies and trailers. In reclassification, the age limits can either increase, decrease or remain unchanged.

According to Hapo, the purpose of the age limits is to protect children from the harmful content of video programs, without unnecessarily restricting their freedom of speech.
