The tenor Xabier Anduaga will offer a concert at the Teatro Real this Sunday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m., in which he will “sing about love through very different characters and dramaturgical situations, in an authentic cartography of the loving emotions of Romanticism.”
This was announced this Monday by the Madrid Coliseum, which recalled that Xabier Anduaga (San Sebastián, 1995) debuted at Real at the age of 21, participating in the Gala of the winners of the 2016 International Tenor Viñas Competition.
Along with Xabier Anduaga will be Julio García Vico, leading the Main Orchestra of the Teatro Real, which will perform three orchestral pieces: the overtures to ‘Norma’, by Vicenzo Bellini, and ‘L’Arlesiénne’, by Georges Bizet and the ‘Pavane pour une infante défunte’, by Maurice Ravel.
Next, the first part will feature arias from works by Gaetano Donizetti such as ‘Ah, mes amis, quell jour de fête!’, from La fille du régiment; ‘Tombs of my ancestors’, by Lucia di Lammermoor; ‘Spirito gentil’, from The Favorite; y ‘Una furtiva lagrima’, from L’elisir d’amore. The first part concludes with ‘La donna è mobile’, by Rigoletto.
Four arias from operas in French conform to the segment of the concert: ‘I think I hear again’, from The Pearl Fishers, by Georges Bizet; ‘Love! Love!’ Ah! Get up, sun!’, from Romeo and Juliet, by Charles Gounod; ‘To get closer to Marie’, from La fille du regiment, by Gaetano Donizetti; y ‘Why wake me up?’, by Werther, by Jules Massenet.
