Actress Heidy Forster dies at the age of 91

To be given the name Heidi as a Swiss – that obliges. Of course not to a solitary mountain existence with an Almöhi, but perhaps to a certain alertness and liveliness and a natural freshness with which one encounters life. In this respect, the actress Heidy Forster – she wrote herself with a y – has happily taken into account the Swiss expectations behind her name. The small, clever woman with the big brown eyes captivated with her naturalness. She was born on September 6, 1931 in Basel.

After her acting training – including private lessons with Ellen Widmann, Rolf Henniger, Maria Becker and Ernst Schröder through a scholarship – she made her debut at the Zurich Schauspielhaus. She then acted in various theaters in Switzerland and began her film career in the successful Swiss films “Hinter den Sieben Gleisen” (1959), “Es Dach überem Chopf” (1962) and “Der 42. Himmel” (1962).
