Deborah Feldman, the author of “Unorthodox”, has written her third autobiographical book: “Judenfetisch” – this time in German. In it she reflects on why her dream of living in Berlin as a “human being among human beings” has not come true.
With her first book, Deborah Feldman suddenly became known. In the second, she describes the “quintessentially American invasion of fame” that “skinned my personality, leaving me raw and throbbing, stripped of my ability to make sense of myself, forced to exist within the public framework that afforded me now dictating its laws”.
