Gaël Giordana: targeted by accusations of harassment, France TV presenter Camille Grenu responds

After the unpacking of Gaël Giordana, Camille Grenu counterattacks. The presenter of the Franceinfo channel announced on Friday that she had filed a defamation complaint against her former colleague Gaël Giordana, who obtained a conviction from the France Télévisions industrial tribunal due to “harassment” suffered on his part.

The public audiovisual group was ordered at the end of January to pay more than 80,000 euros to the former co-presenter of the morning show from 2022 to 2023, in particular for “moral” and “sexual” harassment as well as “null” dismissal. Both parties appealed.

Gaël Giordana accused Camille Grenu of sexual assault and homophobic discrimination this week in our columns. It notably depicted “an intrusion into (his) personal and professional life, non-consensual physical contact on the upper body, beard, hair…”, as well as allusions to his sexual orientation.

Camille Grenu strongly contests the facts. These “serious offenses” “correspond neither to reality nor to the values she defends,” said her lawyer, Me Tewfik Bouzenoune, in a press release. “These accusations, for which no criminal complaint has been filed by Mr. Giordana, are the result of a real manipulation orchestrated with the sole aim of” obtaining “his reinstatement within the morning show,” Ms. Grenu also asserts.

She recalls having “always maintained an excellent relationship” of friendship with Mr. Giordana, “a real glue for the duo” which “has probably had a positive influence on the audiences”. The presenter indicates that she “decided to initiate criminal proceedings for public defamation” against Gaël Giordana in particular.
