Jean-Baptiste Andrea, awarded the Goncourt Spain for his novel 'Take Care of Her'

Jean-Baptiste Andrea has been named winner of the Spanish edition of the Goncourt prize, after being recognized with this same award in France, for his novel ‘Take Care of Her’ that the AdN label will publish in Spain on May 30.

The author already received this award in France last November with this fourth novel which, according to the publisher, “combines the joy of romance and the power of poetry.” The book is published in France by the L’Ilconoclaste label.

‘Veiller sur elle’ is a love story set in Fascist Italy. With this fourth novel, Jean-Baptiste Andrea proposes a trip to Italy at the beginning of the 20th century.

The play tells how fate, Mime, drew the wrong cards. Born poor, he was apprenticed to an insignificant stone sculptor. On the contrary, Viola Orsini was born blessed by luck.

With this award, the Spanish publishing house AdN already has three Goncourt awards in its catalogue, along with ‘Their children after them’ by Nicolas Mathieu and ‘Not all men inhabit the world in the same way’ by Jean-Paul Dubois.
