A fan who was a little too intrusive. Myra Carvalho was sentenced to three months in prison for sending no less than 8,000 cards in less than a month to Harry Styles, reports the British press, including the BBC.

The 35-year-old Brazilian was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to harassment targeting her idol on Tuesday April 16. Since then, she has sent numerous handwritten letters to the British singer as well as a whole series of cards ordered online and delivered directly to his home.

“Sexual urges”

After reporting her client’s “sexual urges” toward Harry Styles, her lawyer Clementine Simon said the defendant’s doctor had diagnosed a “manic episode” and questioned whether she was fit to plead, according to the Daily Mail.

This is not the first time that the actor and singer has been harassed by a fan. In 2022, a 29-year-old woman named Diana Tarazaga-Orero forced her way into his home. A situation which led him to strengthen his security by employing a night guard and installing an anti-panic lock on his bedroom door.
