Leena Krohn received the recognition award of the Finnish Writers' Association – Culture

The recognition award of the Writers’ Association has been awarded since 1949 and is worth 10,000 euros.

To Leena Krohn has been awarded the recognition award of the Finnish Writers’ Association in recognition of the author’s production and work for the benefit of literature.

“Leena Krohn’s narrator’s voice is unique and her imagination is limitless. He wrote novelty and realistic fantasy long before genres were named,” the award’s justification says.

Krohn (b. 1947) has written numerous novels, short stories and essays as well as books for children and young people since the 1970s. He has also illustrated his works himself, such as the picture book in the form of poetry published in February of the current year Heart friend.
