Camilla Ottesen, speaking about the divorce: It was not in the cards
Soon 50-year-old Camilla Ottesen is single, loves to get loose on the dance floor and is good friends with her ex-husband, but the breakup with him after 20 years of marriage has not been a dance on roses. She is cryptic about love, but suggests that ‘everything is fine’ on that front

It is a thoughtful edition of the popular TV host for many years Camilla Ottesen, who later in the year rounds out an age-old milestone when she turns 50, as in the latest edition of the weekly magazine SØNDAG, among other things. speaks out about his divorce.

After 20 years of cohabitation and 17 years of marriage in 2020, Ottesen divorced her husband, Anders Hedme, with whom she has a boy and a girl of 17 and 14 years, respectively, and it was immediately a happy divorce. The couple have thus remained good friends.

Ottesen tries to focus on the positive things that divorce has brought after all.

– It was not in the cards that I should stand here alone. I had not exactly planned that. Neither of us had it. But you never know what life will bring you. I was actually so happy the other day when my daughter said: ‘Mother, the most important thing is that you are not dead and you are not sick’. And then I just had to say: That’s right. You still have your father and mother. Now in them just have each separately. That is not to say that it has been a dance on roses for them or for any of us. I do not claim that one can go happy-go-lucky in through a divorce. But at some point you have to turn it around, push all the negativity and sadness aside and say: Now that’s the way life is. And life is great, she says in the interview.

Love to dance
Here she also says that she still loves to party at a nightclub or disco and break loose on the dance floor as a teenager – just once in a while.

In the interview, Camilla Ottesen emphasizes that she is really fine with her ex-husband, with whom she does many things and has never become friends despite the divorce.

Camilla Ottesen says that in a divorce it is the children who pay the price, but that you have to be careful not to beat yourself up over the fact that it is wrong to get divorced if you have children.

The TV host on i.a. ‘Buying a home in the blind’ and ‘Prisoners at the fort’ thus believe that it is just as wrong to stay together if it does not work.

Cryptic about love
However, there are indications that Camilla Ottesen does not live entirely in celibacy. She denies well enough that she has a new boyfriend, but was still very cryptic about the love life in the secretive way when we met her on March 26 for the TV Prize 2022 at the Tivoli Hotel.

Here she hinted that ‘everything is fine’ on that front, so maybe there are cupids in the air with the TV face anyway.

– It’s not something we have to talk about, but everything is fine. Everything is nice. Spring is on its way – everything is good.

– Why so secret?

– That’s just how it is. It MUST be a secret. But everything is good, it sounds with a mischievous, sneaky smile from Camilla Ottesen.
