The film “The Devil Wears Prada” is getting a sequel

Will Miranda Priestly still be as tyrannical? Almost twenty years after the release of the film “The Devil Wears Prada”, a sequel is reportedly in the works, according to Variety. According to the American title, the screenwriter of this 2006 box office hit, Aline Brosh McKenna, is reportedly in talks with Disney. For the moment, it is unknown who will cast the film.

The feature film, which had been a huge success, like the book from which it was adapted, written by Lauren Weisberger and published in 2003, told the story of the new assistant of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), formidable and feared editor-in-chief of the fashion magazine Runway, inspired by Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue America, Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway).

A musical in London

The difficult adaptation of the young woman, who dreams of becoming a journalist, to the ruthless world of fashion and the imperious desires of Miranda Priestly, as well as the casting of the film (apart from the two main actresses, there were Emily Blunt, Adrian Grenier, Simon Baker, Stanley Tucci) had seduced many readers and spectators. At the time, Meryl Streep had won the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy, as well as an Oscar nomination.

A musical has also been in preparation since 2015 in London. The premiere of this one, whose music was created by Elton John himself, is expected to take place in October 2024.
