Omega-3 can help human organs preserve youth and health

A clinical study showed that the daily consumption of one gram of Omega-3 can slow down the process of biological aging.

The international group of scientists conducted a three-year study using molecular biological methods such as epigenetic hours to evaluate what factors affect the pace of aging. The study was attended by 777 people aged 70 years and older.

In the clinical test, eight different treatment methods were checked, the participants received 2000 international vitamin D or 1 grams Omega-3 daily, and also performed 30 minutes of exercises at home three times a week.

When analyzing blood samples, it was found that the consumption of Omega-3 moderately slows down biological aging, which was manifested in several epigenetic hours for up to 4 months. The result was not dependent on the gender, age or index of body weight of participants. It was also noted that the combination of Omega-3, vitamin D and physical exercises showed an even more positive effect in one of the tests. The authors suggest that each intervention acts through its unique, but interconnected mechanisms, and in combination they enhance the action of each other, leading to a more pronounced general effect.
