Avocados, eggs, green vegetables, and berries are nutritious foods that help improve egg quality, helping women increase their chances of getting pregnant.
MSc. Phan Ha Minh Hanh, Fertility Support Center, Tam Anh General Hospital – District 8, said egg quality not only depends on age but is also influenced by lifestyle and diet. Proper and sufficient supplementation of the following food groups can contribute to improving the endocrine environment, supporting the development of ovarian follicles, thereby making the natural conception process as well as assisted reproductive methods more favorable.

Avocado
Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, which improve insulin sensitivity and balance hormones. Women preparing for pregnancy or monitoring ovulation should add this fruit to their menu about one fruit per day, 3-4 times a week. You can eat it directly, make a smoothie or mix it with salad. Avoid adding too much sugar or condensed milk because it can increase blood sugar.
Chicken eggs
Eggs contain complete protein, choline and vitamin D. These are nutrients that support the structure and quality of egg cells. The best way to prepare it is to boil, steam, and avoid frying too much fat that affects metabolism. Eating 3-5 fruits per week helps maintain a stable nutritional foundation for the ovaries.
Fatty fish
Salmon, mackerel, sardines… rich in omega-3 improve blood flow to the ovaries and reduce inflammation. Women over 30 years old or with signs of endocrine disorders should eat fish about 2-3 meals a week, about 100-150 g each time, and should eat steamed, lightly sauteed or grilled fish.
Dark green vegetables
Green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach contain folic acid, iron and antioxidants, which support egg maturation. Dr. Hanh recommends eating green vegetables every day, which can be boiled, steamed or stir-fried, but should not be cooked thoroughly as they lose micronutrients. A reasonable dosage is 300-500 g a day, divided into several meals.
Berries
Fruits such as blueberries and strawberries contain anthocyanins – powerful antioxidants that help protect egg cells from the effects of free radicals. Older women or women with a history of miscarriage should add these fruits to their daily menu. They can be eaten directly, mixed with yogurt or blended into a smoothie, and limit added sugar.
Nuts
Each small handful of almonds, walnuts, and sunflower seeds provides zinc, selenium and vitamin E to help stabilize hormones and support egg quality. You can eat it directly, mix it with salad or nut milk, but you should choose salt-free and un-roasted varieties.
Full-fat milk
Milk provides vitamin D and fats necessary for the synthesis of reproductive hormones. You should drink 1-2 glasses, equivalent to 200-400 ml a day. However, do not use too much if you have weight problems or metabolic disorders.
Dr. Hanh noted that in addition to diet, women need to get enough sleep 7-8 hours a day, limit prolonged stress, avoid alcohol and tobacco, exercise gently and maintain a reasonable weight. Nutrition can help improve egg quality, but cannot completely replace medical intervention when necessary. Women who have difficulty conceiving or have a history of miscarriage should see a hospital for advice on appropriate treatment.
