More than 1,187 passengers and 514 crew members of the Ambition cruise ship in the port of Bordeaux have been quarantined due to an outbreak of intestinal infection. They are prohibited from leaving the ship.
The ITV News website writes that on Sunday, May 10, a 92-year-old passenger died on board. He had no symptoms of a gastrointestinal infection. And the cause of his death must be determined by forensic experts.
Currently, about 50 passengers and one crew member are complaining of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
The liner left the Shetland Islands on May 6 and, after stops in Belfast and Liverpool, was heading to Spain. He entered Bordeaux on Tuesday, May 12. The ship belongs to the British company Ambassador Cruise Line.
