A young woman was killed by a train in Netanya
A 20-year-old woman was killed this morning (Wednesday) after she apparently fainted and was trapped under a car at the train station in Netanya. Israel Railways found that the young woman lost consciousness, fell onto the tracks and was hit by a passing train. Fire and rescue teams that arrived at the scene rescued her while she was unconscious, and the MDA team that was called to the scene had to determine her death.Noam Levy, an MDA emergency medic, said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw a young woman trapped unconscious with multi-system injuries. We tried to give her medical treatment during the rescue, and after she was rescued, we performed CPR, in the end we had to determine her death.”

Last February she was killed A 42-year-old pedestrian at the Svidor train station in Tel Aviv, after she fell onto the tracks following a convulsion and was hit by a passing train. The medical teams that were called to the station located the woman without signs of life and pronounced her dead on the spot. MDA paramedic Aden Sionov, who arrived at the scene of the incident, said: “We were led to the platform where the woman who was hit by a train was found. We went down to the tracks and performed medical tests on her, she had very serious injuries. Unfortunately, we had to determine her death.”

About three years ago, Tamar Fenigstein, a 19-year-old national service member, was killed in a similar accident near the central station in Jerusalem. She had a medical incident while standing near the light rail tracks, fell between the cars and was crushed to death.
