21% of IDF disabled personnel suffer from PTSD and other psychological problems

The Department of Defense’s Victim Rehabilitation Division reports that of the 64,000 disabled IDF personnel in its care, about 8,000 suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Representatives of the Ministry of Defense note that in the five months since Black Saturday, 6,400 new victims sought help from the relief and rehabilitation department, a flow that Israel has never experienced before.

21% of victims suffered head injuries or suffered from psychological and mental disorders as a result of the experience.
