Many students in Nha Trang are suspected of having food poisoning

Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital received 8 students (3 students at Vinh Truong school, 5 students at Tran Hung Dao school). In addition, one child was treated at Phuc Sinh General Clinic.

At noon on the same day, Nha Trang City People’s Committee recorded 28 students from two schools hospitalized. The patients all showed signs of vomiting, vomiting, difficulty breathing… after breakfast. Dishes such as chicken rice, sushi, and fast food are bought by family members at restaurants in the area and in front of the school gate. Doctors suspect the patients have food poisoning.

Among Vinh Truong Primary School students admitted to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital this morning, a 5th grade female student died.

According to information from the Department of Health, this child has an underlying heart disease. Before being admitted to the hospital, I ate sushi, then complained of fatigue and fainted, and the school called a car to take me to the emergency room. “The patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest and apnea. Active emergency treatment for 30 minutes was ineffective, and the diagnosis of out-of-hospital respiratory arrest was of unknown cause,” a representative of the Department of Health said, at the same time. confirmed that his death was “not due to food poisoning”.

Currently, the health of the remaining patients is stable and being monitored.

At the Provincial Hospital Emergency Department, Mr. Tran Thanh Tan, parent of a 4/3 grade student at Vinh Truong Primary School, said that this morning his child ate chicken rice at the restaurant in front of the school gate. At 8:00 a.m., the baby and some classmates had stomach pain and discomfort. Mr. Tan was informed by the teacher that he should go to school to take his child to the hospital.

Nha Trang City Police coordinated with Vinh Truong Ward People’s Committee, the health sector and related units to take testimonies from a number of establishments selling food to patients.

Last month, Khanh Hoa health sector recorded 10 Nha Trang students with digestive disorders suspected to be due to eating chicken rice in front of the school gate; 369 people were poisoned by eating at Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant due to contamination with Salmonella, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus…
