Is it true that you should not drink water while eating? depends to whom. When it comes to healthy people, you can drink as much as you want – before, during or after the meal.The stomach has enough digestive acids and enough digestive enzymes, and no matter how much we dilute the food with the water we drink, there will still be more acids and enzymes than needed.

There are also foods that contain a large amount of water by themselves, like soup for example, which is like eating cooked vegetables and drinking a glass of water.

In people who suffer from reflux, heartburn, or problems with diarrhea and intestinal inflammation, it is sometimes useful to separate drinking from meals. This is because liquid and thin food can “rise” to the top more easily, and can also make diarrhea worse.
