The absorbable thread method is called Aptos and it makes use of hooks arranged on the thread in a unique way that allows fixation under the skin for stretching. The treatment is performed under local anesthesia and recovery occurs within a few days. The first wire was invented by Dr. Marlan Solmanidze, Sr., also an expert in plastic surgery and the method was developed by his sons, Dr. George Solmanidze and Dr. Konstantin Solmanidze.

About 75% stated that they felt safer, 58% said that the recovery was easier and also 36% answered that they would prefer local anesthesia to know what happens during the operation. About 34% said that in their opinion the recovery is faster. The participants were presented with several options and could choose more than one answer, so the total is greater than 100%. The survey also revealed that 51% of Israelis who have the opinion would like to undergo liposuction under local anesthesia, 40% would like to undergo an eyelid lift, 32% would like to undergo ear surgery, about 31% would like to undergo plastic surgery on the nose, 28% would like to undergo a face lift About 24% would like to undergo breast surgery (which is also relevant for men with female breasts (gynecomastia) who need its reduction and not only for women who want enlargement. The survey was conducted through the research company thepoint2 among 503 women and men aged 18 and over who are a representative sample of the population in Israel.
