Accident Market Management patient in Kon Tum 'recovered well'

TP HCMA 54-year-old male patient from a group of Market Management officials who had a traffic accident in Kon Tum recovered well after nearly a week of treatment for brain hemorrhage at Cho Ray Hospital.

On April 20, Dr. Tran Minh Tri, Department of Neurosurgery, Cho Ray Hospital, said that the patient was fully awake, could communicate, and his vital signs were stable. CT scan after surgery showed normal results.

“The hematoma has been removed, the brain edema has improved,” the doctor said. With the current condition, the patient can be transferred to a regular hospital room for further monitoring.

Nearly a week ago, the patient was pleurally drained by a doctor in Kon Tum after an accident and then transferred to Ho Chi Minh City in a coma and multiple injuries. The scan recorded that the patient had bleeding in many places in the brain, severe anemia, broken shoulder blades and ribs, and had emergency surgery to remove the hematoma.

This is the most serious case among 15 patients transferred to Cho Ray Hospital, after a car carrying a group of officials and employees of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department traveling to Kon Tum collided with a truck and crashed into a sewer. 3-4 m deep located along the road in Kon Tum. The accident left one person dead and 24 injured. The remaining patients with mild and moderate cases have all been treated stably.
