Does skipping breakfast cause obesity? Although this is the “most important meal of the day”, I am in favor of listening to your body and eating only when you are hungry, and not forcing food into your stomach at times when you are not hungry.One of the explanations is that breakfast activates the body’s metabolism and thanks to it you burn more calories during the day. Recently a study was conducted in which they checked whether this is true.

In the study, they tested the daily calorie burning rate in a special metabolic chamber, in people who do not do much physical activity, after six days in which they skipped breakfast, compared to six days in which they ate a regular breakfast. The results showed that skipping breakfast did not affect the daily amount of calories the body burns.
