The dice have fallen! Enthusiasts from the Kurilovo club continue the tradition of holding an international limač tournament, which through ten editions has earned the label of the most massive and prestigious tournament for the generation of limač (U-11) in this part of Europe. At its peak, it was abruptly interrupted due to a pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, so in 2020 and 2021, the tournament was not forcibly held. But the Kuril bird “Fenix” will fly again “.
And that this will be the case, it was clear after the first sessions of the Initiative Committee, whose members adopted the basic guidelines and strategy that will mark the preparation of the tournament, all in the desire to reach its prestigious level, which, of course, the first year after two years. pauses, will be neither easy nor simple.
But, if it is not impossible, the proof of confirmation arrived at the address of the Kurilovec third league from a total of 37 clubs from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Germany and Italy. The most resounding name on the list of clubs is certainly Italian (and Tudor’s) Verona. The title from the last one, in 2019, will be defended by Sofia’s National, and it will certainly be “attacked” by members of the former Ex-Yu “big four” – Dinamo, Hajduk, Zvezda and Partizan, as well as kids from Ljubljana’s Olimpija, Mostar’s Zrinjski, Munich Croatia , Lokomotiva, Gorica, Dragovoljac and from ZG the second and third leagues, but also those from – Kurilovac and Buna. Parents from Zagreb, Split, Metković, Zadar, Čakovec, Karlovac, Krapina, Sisak, Petrinja, Kutina will hang out again….
The request for sponsorship of the tournament was forwarded to the competent offices of the Croatian Football Association in October 2021, and these days their, of course, positive answer is expected, as was the case in all previous tournaments. The traditional patronage will be continued by the mayor of the Turopolje metropolis Krešimir Ačkar, and the same, also with a traditional sign, is expected from the prefect Stjepan Kožić, with the wholehearted support of his deputy Ervin Kolarac. The tournament should have its share of the financial cake in the budget of the Association of Sports Associations and Federations of Zagreb County. Of course, most of the sponsorship and donation funds are reserved in advance and intended to cover the costs of accommodation and meals for many participants from all over Croatia and abroad.
In addition to the football competition, the hospitable hosts, in the role of organizers of this event, try to offer children cultural and entertainment events that promote some of the customs from the rich cultural tradition and heritage of the Turopolje region, as well as playrooms suitable for their age. , socializing with famous athletes).
The main tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, with kids from 37 invited teams and from the three most successful teams from the qualifying tournament (held on May 30) .
Kurilovec volunteers, volunteers and veterans will make sure that the tournament is impeccably organized so that children can enjoy football without worries, and parents and fans in a pleasant atmosphere, rich offer and shade of the club’s summer terrace. A sincere and warm welcome to everyone, so… ..let the tournament begin!
