A big drop in Dalić’s trump card in three months. He was cemented on the bench, dropped from the national team

I want to thank all the fans for this farewell, I didn’t expect it to be like this. Thanks to everyone, Boys and the west. It turned out the best it could have turned out. Let’s move on. Follow every game, support every game, keep in touch with many teammates, follow everything. From now on, I am the biggest Dinamo fan, he said under his breath Luka Ivanušec (25) last summer. & Zcaron; lived the best days of his career.

Emotions were bubbling up in him. At the farewell to his most beloved jersey, he scored two goals (Dinamo – Sparta Prague 3-1), bowed to the fans who chanted for him and cried. He was sad about leaving the club that launched him into orbit, but he was offered the opportunity to make a big step forward in his career. To prove to himself and to everyone that he can play at the highest level. The Dutch giant seemed like an ideal stepping stone for continued development and hoped Luka would be a stopover to an even greater level.

He was a standard Croatian representative and was in the shape of his life. The former coach of Feyenoord, and today the strategist of Liverpool, Arne Slot, seriously bit for him. For weeks, he broke the leaders of the ‘blue’ and in the end managed to break with a compensation of 8 million euros. Ivanušec was welcomed as a star and a player from whom a lot is expected. They saw him as an ideal reinforcement for the Champions League and as a joker with whom they will try to disrupt the plans of the untouchable PSV, a creator and a killer winger who will assist, score and play. It started like a fairy tale, but unfortunately, some stories don’t continue like that.

A year later, the Croatian footballer is going through the most difficult period of his career. In the new season, he was cemented on the bench of the Dutch vice-champion and watches the matches from the front row, and because of this he was also dropped from the national team where he was a standard player. This season, he played only seven games in all competitions, once he started from the first minute and spent an average of 30 minutes on the field. To make matters worse, he missed the same number of games. Coach Brian Priske left him on the bench, as he did in the last match against Ajax. In three months, he fell out of all plans.

Considering the specific period of adaptation that every football player needs upon arrival at a new club, Ivanušec played a solid first season in the Dutch giants. In the championship, he scored three goals and assisted five times in 24 games. He was brilliant in the beginning, he was disturbed by an injury that caused him to miss a month and fell out of shape, but he managed to regain it by the end of the season.

He showed quality and that he can be of great use, but his problems started with the departure of coach Sloto to Liverpool. He believed him, but his successor Prisca not at all. And no one understands why. It’s really incomprehensible that he playsč players of representative caliber and quality such as Luka get miserable minutes that are otherwise intended for juniors and players who are just adjusting to senior football. Somewhat humiliating treatment. How can he show that he is worth and deserves the Feyenoord jersey if he doesn’t play at all? At this moment, there is only the third option on the left wing.

Not so long ago, Ivanušec was indispensable in the first 11 of the Croatian national team. Last year, he played both games against the Netherlands and Spain in the Nations League final. Ever since he returned to the ‘fire’ after the WC in Katra, he was irreplaceable on Zlatko Dali’s list, but even he couldn’t look past him forever. Although he played a little, he was called up in September and October, but for the cycle in November, he fell off the list and ended up on the pre-call. It is quite clear that the same epilogue will be at the next gathering if the situation in Feyenoord does not change.

No matter how frustrating and painful it was for the Croatian football player, nobody can actually complain about Priske because he does his job solidly. In the Champions League, they have two wins and a loss, and in the championship anyway, PSV is light years ahead of everyone else, so the club will have to be content with fighting for second place. Itž is fun to watch him playč such classes are on the bench. The situation is not optimistic, and that is why leaving Rotterdam, even temporarily, is the only solution, even if it is a club of a lower level than Feyenoord. At this moment, he desperately needs a minute to get back in shape, win Dali’s move, but also show Priske that he was wrong to put him on the bench.

And it’s not the first time he’s been in this kind of situation. At the beginning of the 2022/2023 season, he played in very bad shape, which is why he missed the World Championship in Qatar. He struggled in the Dinamo jersey, but after a cold slap, he reset, was reborn and played the football of his life. Now they will have to do the same again…
