Malagò, “rescue was timely”

“I reviewed the images. As usual there were interpretations about the delay in the rescue, but it seems to me that they were all very timely and professional and very lucid”: these are the words of Coni president Giovanni Malagò on the sidelines of the Coni-Ussi awards 2024. “I know the boy and his family well. This morning’s news has reassured everyone”, he added.

Malagò criticized those who expressed theories on the alleged causes of the illness and hypothesized a lack of prevention: “I hate all those people who pretend to be experts in cardiology. Italy is one of the few countries in the world where the medical certificate has legal value Sports certification is the flagship of our sports organization. We always turn to recognized professionals for suitability checks. We are very happy with the quality of our professionals.”

Gravina: “The boy is fine, he wants to watch the match”

“The boy is fine. He was very pleased to see his teammates and friends again, he keeps informed about the matches, so it means that he is already well, and he is already looking forward to this evening’s match” between Roma and Atalanta “and asks how being able to look at it, so it’s a very positive sign. Then the doctors will certainly be much more punctual and precise than me because we haven’t had the opportunity to exchange or ask, out of respect for their profession and privacy”, said the FIGC president. Gabriele Gravina speaking to journalists at the exit of the Careggi hospital where he visited the player.

“I was pleased to bring the support to Bove of the entire world of football, of the football community, which experienced moments of great fear and emotion in front of the scene that we all had the opportunity to experience last night – added Gravina – I understood also the opportunity to greet the family, a beautiful family, the harmony and serenity of this family is truly surprising. The same serenity that I found going to Viola Park, because I took the opportunity to thank Fiorentina, and therefore. I wanted to thank the management in people from Alessandro Ferrari and Daniele Pradé, from coach Raffaele Palladino, from the whole team: I wanted to have lunch with them and then spend a bit with Edo.”
