Anita Wlodarczyk injures her muscle: A car thief is apprehended by an Olympic hammer throw champion

Anita Wlodarczyk, a three-time Olympic hammer throw champion from Poland, was hurt while catching a car thief. Her car was attempted to be stolen by the man.

“I arrested the thief on my own and handed him over to the cops.” I paid for it with a muscular strain, unfortunately,” the 36-year-old posted on Instagram. As a result, she will be operated on on Monday. The nature of the injury was not specified in the article.

Wlodarczyk, who became the first athlete to win Olympic gold in the same event three times in a row in Tokyo last year, was also considering switching from the hammer throw ring to another. “After my career, I guess I’ll compete in MMA or UFC like our champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk because the perpetrator was hurt,” stated the 36-year-old, who wasn’t entirely serious about a full-contact martial arts career.

She hopes to win her sixth world title at the World Athletics Championships, which will be held in Oregon, USA, from July 15 to 24. It’s unclear whether Wlodarczyk will be able to compete before then. (dpa)
