Basketball European Championship qualification – national coach Mumbru nominates six world champions

With six basketball world champions, national coach Alex Mumbru goes into the final sprint of the European Championship qualification. Johannes Voigtmann, Andreas Obst, Justus Hollatz, Johannes Thiemann, Isaac Bonga and David Krämer lead the 16-member national team requirement for the final games in Montenegro (February 20, 7 p.m.) and three days later in Bamberg against Bulgaria (5 p.m. Magenta sport). As the German Basketball Bund (DBB) announced in the course of the nomination on Monday, the squad will be reduced before the course of the course on February 17th in Munich. The Germans could already qualify in Montenegro with a win for the European Championship in Finland, Poland, Cyprus and Latvia (August 27 to September 14) when the Bulgarians defeated Sweden in parallel.

Germany is in the table of qualification group D with two wins and two defeats in second place behind leaders Montenegro (three wins and one defeat). This is followed by Sweden (two victories and two defeats) and Bulgaria (one victory and three defeats). The first three teams are at the European Championship.
